Day 1 - Tortilla de Patata and Tanghulu
The first day of Art of Cooking, we made Tortilla de Patata and Tanghulu. We packed all of our supplies, like pots, pans, and knives, onto the small school van and drove to the Bissonet Campus, where we will be doing most of our cooking. We got to meet our chef, Jessica, who does cooking as a hobby, but previously worked as a professional chef. She explained a bit of what we would be doing today and helped us get started on making the Tanghulu and Tortilla de Patata. She walked around and gave us help if we needed it, especially with flipping the tortilla. After we finished cooking we got to eat our food. All of the groups successfully made the Tortilla de Patata, but the Tanghulu was a bit harder. We cleaned up our stations and got some free time in the gym and outdoors. Overall it was a good first day and everyone enjoyed cooking and getting to eat what they made.
